Hosting Our First Empowerment Ceremony

An Annual Academic Award Ceremony…

With a goal to encourage both students to learn to the best of their abilities and teachers to teach to the best of their abilities, we hosted an award ceremony gathering the five primary schools within Nri village on July 27, 2019.

For each of the five schools, monetary rewards were given to the top three academic students of each grade level as well as to the school’s teacher of the year.

We opted to make the rewards monetary because financial aid is what most of the students and teachers need, be it for backpacks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, etc. Providing a monetary reward allows them to apply it to any area of need they may have.
